Baseball, generally regarded as an American sport, has long been rumored to appear this year on MacDuffie’s campus. Many MacDuffie students have expressed their interest in the sport and proposed the idea to Director of Athletics Meirion George, who felt that a baseball team would be a good addition to MacDuffie’s athletics program.

“There has been an interest in adding a more traditional American sport,” George said.

George has also already been in contact with multiple candidates for a coach. Although the Athletics Department is still working on logistics and scheduling difficulties, the possibility of a new baseball team is becoming a reality for MacDuffie this spring.

Not a lot of information is available thus far, but George mentioned that if enough players sign up to play baseball, then JV and Varsity teams would be formed.
