T-Rex and Mathematical Geniuses

Creampuff

Dear Creampuff

My friend is mad at me and I do not know why. I didn’t do anything wrong and I ask her if she’s mad at me and she says no. But, my other friends tell me that she has been telling them how she’s mad at me. What do I do?

– Frustrated friend

Dear frustrated friend,

This is a tough situation to be in, especially when your friend won’t tell you what you did wrong to make her or him upset. If this friendship is worth fighting for, you need to sit down and have a serious chat about what is going on. I know communication can be very hard but it is key. With this situation, you just need to talk it out and discuss how to resolve it.

COMMUNICATION IS KEY,

Creampuff

Dear Creampuff,

Math is killing me! I try so hard in that class but I always fail

-No mathematical genius

Dear mathematical genius,

I feel you dude/dudette. Math has been my toughest subject since elementary school. I can relate to trying your hardest and still not getting the grades you feel you deserve or want. I suggest you sit down and talk to your math teacher about your struggles. Your teacher can give you tips or maybe you guys can have one on one time with each other. You just have to find which helping or study tool works the best for you.

Keep working hard,

Creampuff

Creampuff,

I want to be a dinosaur

-T-rex

Dear T-rex,

Reach for the stars… you can do whatever you set your mind to! But, sadly this is out of reach… be a unicorn!

Love,

Creampuff

Dear Creampuff,

I am looking at colleges and I know where I want to go. But, I just don’t know what I want to be or major in. I am so stuck. I don’t want to get stuck in a job I dislike so strongly but I do not know what my passion is. And time is running out.

-Lost

Dear lost student,

You don’t have to make all the decisions now- it is very likely that you will discover your true passions and what you want to do with your life later on in college. You don’t have to declare your major yet – just go to college first and see what kinds of classes you like the most and what really gets you motivated and excited about learning: that is where you will be the most happy. No need to freak out too much about the future – you’ve made it really far and can take a little breather; enjoy your summer and just let things be and they’ll work themselves out…. Sometimes we get too worried about what is going on in our lives rather than actually living them.

It’ll all work out,

Creampuff
