On October 7th, the MacDuffie Cross Country Team held its first invitational. MacDuffie placed third overall against the Williams School, Marianapolis Prep, St Andrews, and Rocky Hill; however, the MacDuffie girls’ team placed first.

According to Cross Country Coach Anna Cressotti, “the invitational was the biggest home meet we’ve ever had since I’ve been here.” Cressotti adds that nearly everyone improved their times significantly at the meet.

Since MacDuffie acquired a new expanse of land, Cressotti has worked alongside Cross Country Coach Kevin Hillman and Athletic Director Merion George to create a new course, and the invitational was one of the first opportunities to utilize it. In preparation for the invitational, the cross country team ran the new course several times during practice to familiarize themselves with its layout.
