What’s inside the classroom?

Classrooms are the place where students spend most of their time receiving knowledge during school hours. Some of the classrooms in our school are being decorated nicely, with students’ projects and materials hanging up on the walls.

Math teacher Caleb Parsons is also the owner of Room 3311. In his classroom, walls are being decorated by students’ works. Based on the decoration of the classroom, Parsons said, “I chose my decorations very carefully. I wanted plenty of math facts (which were made by the students), plenty of nerdy posters, and some inspirational and mathy stuff on the walls. Other than that, I wanted my desk as far away from where I teach (I don’t like sitting in class), and plenty of space to move around”.

French teacher Kevin Hillman is another teacher who has decorations in his classroom. On the walls, there is student artwork and there are French elements everywhere. Hillman states that “classrooms should be comfortable and welcoming. I also have a lot of plants in my classroom because I want a lot of life in the classroom.”

These decorated classrooms make our school lives more interesting and colorful. Moreover, hanging the students’ works on the walls also enhances the student’s self-esteem. It’s always exciting to see ourselves works being hanged on the walls. Classrooms are not only a place for students to gain knowledge, but also a place to enjoy themselves.
